This new monthly affinity group discusses a different film picked and watched in advance. February’s discussion will center on "Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom" (2020), a recent film adaptation of August Wilson’s 1984 play about a recording session in Chicago in the 1920s. Available to watch on Netflix, it stars Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman. In the film, absurdities and frustrations abound, and the lethal, soul-crushing shadow of American racism falls across the musicians and their instruments. Please RSVP to info@chevychaseathome.org to let us know you are coming.
