Full Members
Family and Individual Full Members within our service area receive these volunteer-provided services:
- Transportation
- Household assistance such as putting out recycling bins, fixing leaky faucets, changing hearing aid batteries and light bulbs
- Technical aid and advice with your smart phone, tablet, TV or computer
- Friendly visits, including respite visits to provide relief breaks for caregivers
- Dog-walking
- Medical note-taking by volunteers trained to record information during medical appointments
- Neighbor Network program—a friendly phone call or helpful outdoor visit when inclement weather or covid-19 keeps you at home
Full members also receive all of the Social Member benefits, including:
- Educational programs and social events—discuss ideas, make new friends, learn new skills, improve technical competence, enjoy musical performances.
- Presentations by experts and notable authors on subjects that interest you, such as national elections, art history, fall prevention, memory loss, and travel.
- Participation in member-led groups—walking groups, knitting, coffees, gardening, men's poker, brunch bunch, book group, movie group, and more
- Exercise classes: Tai Chi, Zumba® Gold, Movement and Music, etc.
- Access to a member listserv where you can share information with other members via the Internet
- Emailed event bulletins and quarterly newsletter by mail and email.
- Special programs offered periodically for no charge, such as Home Safety visits provided by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.
Full Members must be over 55 years of age. The cost of a Full Membership is $500 per year for an individual, or $650 per year for a household. Join now!
If our membership fee is a hardship, please contact the office. Scholarships are available from the Naomi Kaminsky Scholarship Fund.
