Learn about important local history at the Josiah Henson Museum & Park in North Bethesda, which recently opened a new museum building on site. It is the former plantation property of Isaac Riley where Reverend Josiah Henson was enslaved. Henson's 1849 autobiography inspired Harriet Beecher Stowe’s landmark novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin. After exploring the museum and historic buildings with other CC@H members and volunteers from roughly 11 am to noon, enjoy lunch together at Not Your Average Joe's restaurant nearby (separate checks).

Admission is $4 for seniors, to be paid on site upon arrival. Open to members and volunteers; participants must be fully vaccinated with all recommended boosters.

If you are interested in attending but want a ride, please let the office know. Please note that parking is at the Kennedy-Shriver Aquatic Center located across the street, one and a half blocks away at Wall Local Park, 5900 Executive Boulevard, N. Bethesda. Limited accessible parking is available on site.
