Village volunteers and members who are caregivers are invited to register for a free training program led by the Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter. The program will cover both communication and behavior difficulties experienced by those diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia and how their caregivers and families can manage these situations more effectively. This program is organized by Bethesda Metro Area Village.

Do you want to learn more about how to be comfortable and successful communicating with people with neuro-cognitive difficulties? How to approach, reach them, and find a better way to lessen frustrations? This program will give you real-life tools you can use as you navigate the difficulties of being a care partner to a family member or to individuals you interact with as a volunteer.

Behavior is a powerful form of communication and is one of the primary ways people living with dementia communicate their needs and feelings as the ability to use language is lost. However, some behaviors can present real challenges for caregivers to manage. Join us to learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common triggers, and learn strategies to help manage some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.

Please contact info@chevychaseathome.org for more information.
