Dance & Song for Seniors Demonstration Class
Wednesday, March 7, 2018, 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM
Chevy Chase Village Hall
5906 Connecticut Avenue
Chevy Chase, MD 20815
You’re invited to explore—and perhaps reconnect with—the joy of dancing and music by taking part in a class based on the model developed by the renowned Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson’s Group.
The one-hour demonstration combines live piano accompaniment and easy-to-do movements drawn from a wide range of dance styles, all of which are adaptable to varying levels of physical ability, including participants who use walkers. Music also plays a key role in the class.
Please note: No dance or singing experience is needed, and all are welcome to participate and enjoy this free demonstration which will launch a Dance & Song For Seniors 7-Week Class Session to begin March 14th.
About the Presenters: This session is led by Robert Sacheli, a teaching artist in the Dance for PD® program trained at Mark Morris Dance Group, and musician-composer Roy Barber, who leads a Parkinson’s choir in Chevy Chase sponsored by the National Capital chapter of the Parkinson Foundation.
